Concept 2026 · Hospitality

A guest's first job is picking dates — so that's the first thing they see

At a boutique hotel the buying decision starts with a photo and ends with a date. The whole page is built to put those two steps back to back.

Design decisions

Why it looks this way

This is a concept build — not real client work. What follows are the decisions I'd defend while working with a real business in this industry.

The house's own material instead of the blue-and-white sea cliché

I dropped the blue-and-white palette that "Aegean hotel" usually means. The palette came from the house itself: stone, olive green, earth, and ochre. The photos show the courtyard, the bougainvillea, the breakfast table — not the sea.

The booking bar overlaps the hero

The page's signature element: a bar for check-in/check-out dates, guest count, and room type overlaps the hero's bottom edge by 58 pixels. A visitor sees the place and can pick dates before they've even scrolled.

"You stay in the room you saw in the photo"

In a nine-room house, every room is different. Stating that the room number is fixed at booking is the clearest way to stand apart from chain hotels — and it's the thing guests worry about most.

Saying less to hold attention better

The amenities section skips spa, gym, restaurant — it lists pool, breakfast, bicycles, and quiet instead. A line like "after 23:00, conversation in shared spaces stays at a whisper" tells a guest who the hotel is for better than any bullet list.

Systems for the real project

  • — Date- and guest-count booking bar
  • — Room type and availability management
  • — Booking admin panel
  • — Instant notification on a new booking
  • — Trilingual structure (TR / EN / DE)
  • — Gallery with a mosaic layout
  • — Hotel structured data
  • — Location and distance information

In this concept the interface was designed; the database and notification layer already run live in Casa Aurelia.
